Getting Started

Yes, 100% free. We never charge members to view offers, check approval odds, or compare financial products. We earn a commission from our financial partners when you are matched with and choose a product β€” but this never affects your rate or terms.

We receive compensation from lenders, credit card issuers, and other financial institutions when their products are displayed and you choose to apply. This is disclosed in our Affiliate Disclosure. Our editorial team remains independent β€” compensation does not influence which products we recommend.

You can browse categories and general information without an account. However, to see personalized offers matched to your specific credit profile, you will need to sign up. Sign-up takes about 2 minutes.

We ask for basic personal information including your name, email, address, and date of birth. To generate personalized offers, we also request your last four digits of your Social Security Number to perform a soft credit pull.

Credit Scores

No. When we show you your approval odds, we perform a soft credit inquiry, which is invisible to lenders and has zero impact on your credit score. A hard inquiry only occurs when you actually submit a formal application to a lender.

We show offers for all credit scores β€” from poor (below 580) to exceptional (800+). The products available to you will vary based on your score. Members with lower scores will see options designed specifically for rebuilding credit.

A soft pull is a background check that does not affect your score. We use soft pulls to generate your personalized offers. A hard pull happens when you formally apply for credit β€” it temporarily lowers your score by a few points and is visible to other lenders for up to two years.

The fastest ways to improve your score are: (1) pay down credit card balances to below 30% of your limit, (2) make all payments on time, (3) dispute errors on your credit report, and (4) avoid closing old accounts. Our blog has detailed guides on each of these strategies.

We work with all three major credit bureaus β€” Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. The bureau used for your soft pull may vary depending on the product category.

Credit Cards

Our proprietary algorithm analyzes your credit profile β€” including score, utilization, payment history, derogatory marks, and age of accounts β€” against each card issuer's known approval criteria. The result is an estimate, not a guarantee, but it is far more accurate than applying blindly.

We redirect you to the issuer's official application page when you click "Apply." We do not process credit card applications ourselves. All decisions are made by the issuing bank.

Secured credit cards and student credit cards are designed for people with limited or no credit history. Capital One Platinum Secured and Discover Student Cash Back are consistently rated highly for beginners.

0% APR means you pay no interest on purchases or balance transfers during the introductory period, which typically lasts 12 to 21 months. After that period, the standard variable APR applies. Always pay off the full balance before the introductory period ends.

Loans

We offer comparisons for personal loans, debt consolidation loans, auto loans (new, used, and refinance), home loans (purchase and refinance), and home equity loans. All are available through our network of 50+ lending partners.

No. Pre-qualifying for loan rates on our platform uses a soft credit inquiry. Only if you proceed with a formal loan application at a lender will a hard inquiry appear on your report.

Many of our lender partners can approve and fund personal loans within 24 hours of a completed application. Same-day funding is available with some lenders for amounts under $10,000.

Borrowers with scores above 740 typically qualify for the best rates β€” often 5.99% to 8.99% APR. Borrowers with scores between 580 and 669 can still qualify for loans, though rates will be higher. Scores below 580 have more limited options.

Account & Privacy

Yes. We use 256-bit SSL encryption to protect all data in transit and at rest. We are compliant with all applicable US data protection regulations and undergo regular third-party security audits.
